Buying a Used Car – The Test Drive

So you’ve found what appears to be a gem- low mileage, well maintained, and a great price. All that’s left is to go on a leisurely drive to make sure that it starts and stops, right? Wrong- the test drive is the biggest diagnostic tool that you can use without taking the vehicle to a shop.

The test drive isn’t about seeing how fast it will accelerate or how well it takes turns. You do all of that stuff when it’s your vehicle; push the limits then. On your test drive you need to be looking for less obvious signs that might indicate neglectful ownership or imminent repairs. There’s nothing worse than finding out that the diamond you just bought needs new brakes or a new power steering pump.

Do you love protein? Did you know…

Protein can be your best friend. Getting a good amount of protein each day helps your body build lean muscle mass and reduce the amount of time your body needs to recover from intense physical activity or injury. It can also help you gain a ton of weight.

For most people, massive weight gain isn’t a desired result of their high protein diet. Yet, for some unknown reason, it still happens. Is it the type of protein you’re taking? Maybe, but it’s probably how much.

Foods like fish, red meats, and nuts all have a good protein content. A can of tuna, for example, usually has anywhere from 20 to 35 grams of protein in a single serving; a pound of hamburger could have over 40 grams; a nice, juicy steak might have anywhere between 25-50 grams. Eating about 0.5 grams of protein per pound that you weigh per day is a great way to help you maintain a healthy body weight. However, your protein intake needs to be spread out.
